About the Opportunity
Due to our steady continuous growth, we are looking to hire an additional doctor. We are seeking the right applicant who sees Galena Animal Medical Clinic as their new home and who we see as a great Veterinarian for our team. We will be highly competitive on compensation. About You
You are a practicing veterinarian, licensed, and in good standing with the state of Maryland. You are committed to practicing high-quality medicine and consider yourself a lifetime learner. You are patient with pet owners, their loved ones, and generally have a sunny disposition in and out of the exam room. Our team is very collaborative, so if you naturally like to teach others, that is excellent too. New grads are welcome and will have the opportunity to be mentored and time to develop skills. You may want to hone your skills regarding special interests, such as skilled orthopedics, rehabilitation, Chinese medicine/acupuncture, practice management or exotics. We will support your endeavors to expand the spectrum of our hospital. No on call, Candidate must be able to perform the duties commensurate with graduate veterinarian in private setting.
About the Team
The team currently consists of our 1 Veterinarian/Owner, 1 Associate Veterinarian, 1 Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, 1 Office Manager, 4 Technicians, 3 Client Service Representatives, 3 Tech/Kennel Assistants! The team consistently praises the hard-working family like atmosphere in the building. Additionally, the high percentage of full-time members ensures continuity and collaboration.

We first opened our doors here at Galena Animal Medical Clinic in October of 2005 and have been providing our community with excellent pet care ever since. Each member of our team brings their own set of unique skills and holds genuine compassion for the animals we see and their owners. We are a growing clinic, seeing new clients almost every day! To accommodate our clientele and staff growth, we have recently moved into a much larger building. Be a part of our journey!
Certified, Licensed or Experienced Veterinary Technicians: Experienced in the areas of customer service, surgery, anesthesia and laboratory testing. Successful candidates must be dependable, team players and great listeners. Must be available 2 Saturdays per month (clinic hours 8-noon).
Required skills for the positions are: standard veterinary technician duties (holding, TNT, AG’s, SQ fluids, etc.), assisting the doctor, medication administration, radiography, dentistry machine, IV catheter placement, ability to draw blood, perform in house laboratories, patient monitoring, surgical prep, anesthesia administration and monitoring and post-op surgical monitoring.
If not licensed at least 3 years of experience as a veterinary technician at a veterinary practice is required.
Formal education in veterinary medicine is also considered a plus.
