Meghan W.
Office Manager
Unlike many of her colleagues, Meghan didn’t initially set out to work in the veterinary field. That’s not to say she doesn’t love animals just as much, though! In fact, it was the opportunity to be around pets that inspired Meghan to make a career change. Now, she gets to share her skills in office management while also enjoying the bonus of puppy and kitten snuggles. Can’t beat that!
Prior to joining the Galena Animal Medical Clinic team in August of 2024, Meghan had been working as an office manager in the auction industry. Making the leap to veterinary medicine has given Meghan much more purpose and a reason to be proud of her work. Professionally, she enjoys being challenged every day, and is grateful to be surrounded by sweet animals and their caring owners.
In addition to landing her dream job, Meghan’s childhood dream of owning a Siberian Husky also came true a few years ago, when she adopted her sweet Nanuk. She and her husband also share their home with an Australian shepherd named Bailey and a cat named Sabrina (a.k.a. Mama Kitty). Each of these precious souls complete Meghan’s life in their own special way.

Alexis “Lexi” G.
Veterinary Technician
Lexi brings hands-on experience and a lifelong passion for animal care to the Galena Animal Medical Clinic team. Her journey in veterinary medicine began in 2019 when she enrolled in the Veterinary Assistant program at Chesapeake College, but her love for animals took root much earlier during her childhood growing up on a farm in Ingleside, MD.
Life on the farm, surrounded by cats, dogs, horses, goats, and cows, taught Lexi more than just responsibility—it showed her the deep connection between people and animals. Those early days, filled with caring for creatures great and small, sparked a desire to help animals live healthy, happy lives, a calling she’s followed ever since.
After gaining experience at another practice, Lexi joined Galena Animal Medical Clinic full-time in November 2024, ready to bring her skills and compassion to a new community. She’s especially passionate about understanding the science behind treatments and finds great joy in helping pets recover and thrive through preventive care. Building trust with clients and watching their pets grow healthier over time is one of the most rewarding parts of her work. She believes that even small acts of care can make a lasting difference in an animal’s life.
Now living in Chestertown, MD, Lexi shares her life with her two children, Paisley (4) and Peyton (2), along with their playful dog Kane and curious cat Clover. She values the trust clients place in her and is dedicated to providing compassionate, reliable care to every pet she meets.

Lia C.
Veterinary Technician
For Lia Clark, animals have always been more than companions—they’ve been the heartbeat of her story. Born and raised in New York, Lia learned resilience early in life. A later move to Delaware offered her the space to slow down, focus, and pursue the path she was always meant for: veterinary medicine.
That path began when Lia was seven, with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named King. He quickly became her shadow, her confidant, and the subject of her very first “exam” when she dressed up as a veterinarian one Halloween. King was gentle, soulful, and deeply intuitive—the kind of dog who understood people without a word. Caring for him sparked something in Lia that never faded.
Her professional journey started with volunteer work at the SPCA, where she provided hands-on care for shelter pets and saw the powerful bond between animals and humans in their most vulnerable moments. That experience led her to a low-cost veterinary clinic, where she sharpened her clinical skills and developed a passion for community-based care. In August 2024, she joined Galena Animal Medical Clinic to expand her knowledge in diagnostics, long-term patient care, and client education.
As a veterinary technician, Lia thrives in an environment where no two days are the same. She loves the fast pace, the medical puzzles, and the small wins—like seeing a sick pet bounce back or helping a nervous owner feel at ease. But it’s the teamwork that means the most. The shared laughs, inside jokes, and sense of purpose with her coworkers keep her grounded and inspired.
Outside the clinic, Lia lives life full of vibrant energy. She loves to travel, explore new places, and find meaning in every connection she makes. For her, veterinary medicine isn’t just a career—it’s a lifelong calling rooted in heart, science, and soul.

Brianna R.
Veterinary Assistant / Kennel Assistant
For Brianna Rorrer, caring for animals isn’t just a goal—it’s a promise she made long ago. After losing her childhood pets, Abby and Koda, to undiagnosed pancreatitis, Brianna knew she wanted to dedicate her life to helping animals live longer, healthier lives.
Brianna joined Galena Animal Medical Clinic in September 2024, taking her first steps into the veterinary world with the same quiet resolve that’s guided her ever since. Knowing that animals are more than just pets—they’re family—she jumped at the chance to gain hands-on experience before starting her formal training at Cecil College to become a Veterinary Technician.
At the clinic, Brianna has found joy in the variety each day brings. While she loves all animals, she’s especially excited when less common pets like birds, guinea pigs, or bunnies come through the door. She’s also deeply committed to making surgical patients as comfortable as possible, ensuring their recovery is calm and cared for.
At home, Brianna shares her life with Lion, a sweet, older cat she rescued from a family member. Despite his age, Lion has learned a few new tricks—literally. He happily spins for treats, proving it’s never too late for a little fun. Her family also includes two playful dogs, Cerberus and Picchu, and her sister’s cat, Sushi.
Whether she’s helping an assembly line of puppies through their first check-ups or soaking up knowledge from her mentors, Brianna is exactly where she’s meant to be—building the skills and compassion to keep animals healthy, one paw at a time.

Joanna E.
Administrative / Receptionist
Joanna was born in New Zealand and moved with her family to the United States when she was 12 years old. She started working in a veterinary clinic when she was a teenager growing up in California. She enjoyed working in the veterinary field so much, she decided to make it her career. Joanna takes pride in making sure clients receive an outstanding customer experience at each visit and enjoys creating those long-lasting relationships.
Joanna came to Galena Animal Medical Clinic after moving to this area from New England in 2016, where she had lived for the past 23 years. She’s been a member of the GAMC family since October of 2017 and loves to get to know each client and their four-legged friend(s).
Her time away from the front desk is spent as a team member of the MidAtlantic Horse Rescue as well as volunteering her time at local horse shows in the area. She lives on her farm in Warwick with her rescue animals which includes 3 horses, 2 cats and a dog. She and her husband have 3 children, one of which is an employee here at GAMC.

Catie “Catherine” S.
Receptionist
Growing up in Charleston, SC, nothing made Catie happier than caring for pets. Whether it was handling her hamsters and guinea pigs or snuggling the many dogs and cats her family had over the years, if there was an animal around, that’s where you’d find Catie! Being able to work in a field that allows her to share her lifelong passion is nothing short of a dream come true!
In 2016, Catie relocated to Delaware in search of a fresh start. A few years later, while working at another local clinic, Catie brought her dog to Galena Animal Medical Center for an appointment and was offered a job. Turns out, it was the perfect fit, and she hasn’t looked back since. As one of our amazing receptionists, Catie enjoys the variety of animals and their unique personalities, and seeing sick animals get better.
Catie’s home life is akin to a fairy tale. She married her high school sweetheart, Chris, in 2023, and the couple will soon be welcoming their first child. Completing the family is Bailey, the sweetest pit bull you will ever meet. In what little spare time she has, Catie enjoys reading books, camping, going on cruises, and visiting her favorite vacation spot in the world: Maine.

Kim N.
Client Service Representative
Kim Nicholson has always found joy in helping others, but when her path led her into veterinary medicine, she discovered something even more meaningful—supporting both people and their beloved pets. She entered the field in 2025 and quickly grew to love the unique mix of compassion, communication, and care that defines her role. For Kim, being part of a veterinary team means being a steady presence during both joyful and difficult moments.
The work is deeply personal to her. After experiencing the heartbreak of losing her own pet to dementia and old age, Kim was profoundly moved by the support and sensitivity of the care team around her. That experience inspired her to help others navigate similar journeys—ensuring that every pet family feels seen, supported, and respected.
As a Client Service Representative at Galena Animal Medical Center, Kim is often the first smile clients see when they walk through the door—and she makes sure it’s a warm one. She’s known for greeting every furry visitor with a treat and a gentle pat, and she finds deep fulfillment in following each pet’s story from illness back to wellness. Her natural curiosity drives her to learn more about veterinary medicine, and she enjoys understanding how different conditions develop and how they’re treated.
Kim grew up between Texas and Maryland’s Western Shore, always surrounded by animals—dogs, cats, bunnies, even chickens. Today, she shares life with her daughter, granddaughter, and their combined crew of cats and dogs. Outside of work, Kim enjoys gardening, decorating, and girls’ nights with friends. She also manages a local blues band, The Blues Keepers, where she handles social media and event promotions.
For Kim, this career isn’t just a job—it’s a heartfelt commitment to animals and the people who love them.
